Welcome to Rockford Youth Football. We are very excited about the upcoming season of play. Listed below is all of the information you need to know. Go Rockets!

Rockford is now part of the North Star Youth Football League. North Star comprises 8 teams: Rockford, STMA, Elk River, Becker, Big Lake, Monticello, Zimmerman, and St. Francis. 

Schedules will be structured where our away games that are farther away are scheduled for Saturday mornings.

We also welcome gently used cleats for hand-me-downs for those in need or simply don't want to buy cleats because kids grow like weeds (it takes a village!). Just please bring them to equipment handouts and we will keep them in our bins for those who need a new pair. 

2024 Important Dates

4/1 - Registration Open (Closes Aug 7th): PLEASE REGISTER ASAP SO WE CAN GET JERSEY'S ORDERED IN TIME

TBD (WILL DO AN EARLY HANDOUT AND CLOSER TO LEAGUE START) – Equipment Handout

• 5:30-6:30 - 2nd - 4th graders
• 6:30 to 7:30 - 5th and 6th graders

Game Schedule 4th/5th/6th Grade: 

Will be held Thursdays and Saturdays: 7 games + 1 possible Bowl game (league championship)

Game Schedule 2/3rd Grade: 

Will be held Thursdays and Saturdays: Minimum of 4 games at this level. We are working with the other schools to get these games scheduled but they should be on the same days as the other grades. 

Participation in RAAA tackle football is composed of grades 2nd – 6th. The participation cost is $120 for grades 2-3 and $140 for grades 4-6.  There is also the option to purchase your jersey for $50 with your name on the back, we have landed on a color/style. These jerseys will be good for the next following 2-years and we will try to keep these the same moving forward. 

A separate deposit check of $100.00 made out to RAAA is also required when picking up equipment.  (Deposit check destroyed upon return of equipment.)

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE (we want everyone to play). 

Practices are:

Tuesdays/Thursdays 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. (Pads)

Wed 6 - 7 p.m. (Walk-through: Optional, but recommended for playbook learning)

Practices will take place at the High School Fields.  The specific fields are TBD and will be communicated when the season starts, but we typically practice at the lighted soccer/football fields or on the turf when we can. 

Our official season will begin August 13th for 4/5/6th graders and continue until MEA Weekend. Games will be on Thursdays and Saturdays. The league schedule will be available in early August. 

Rockford will also look to participate in the "Kings of the Gridiron" tournament over MEA weekend (4/5/6th grades).
